I'll Do It My Way

Malaysians will always be Malaysians. Even when there is no place to squeeze, they must squeeze in to sit down. I was in a jam packed LRT the other day and a lady who was sitting exactly in front of me got down at the KL Sentral Station. Ooh... An empty seat... Should I sit down or give it to the aunty (she looked way older than me) beside me?? I was still thinking until...
A lady who STOOD BEHIND ME had to squeeze and push her big fat giant a** and sat down without even asking if I wanted to sit. May I remind you that she looked younger than me. Excuse me woman...
Not that I was intending to sit, but still... So RUDE!!! How can one be just so ignorant? So you think you're big, you can take my seat is it?? ..... Yep she took MY seat. Couldn't say anything about it .

When someone crosses the road, you can somehow tell if that person is Malaysian or not. A Malaysian would cross the road like he/she owns it.. But a non-malaysian would never or more like can never do such a thing as they not as pro as us. While on Jalan Ampang that day, I witnessed a foreigner struggling to cross the road. She managed to get halfway, rocked back and forth before she finally freaked out as a motorcycle was coming her way in the middle of the road. She ran backwards. Ok.. I have to admit I was having a good laugh watching her cross the road.
On the other hand, when a Malaysian is crossing the road, its a whole other story all together. They do it until sometimes when you are driving, you'd just wish u could yell at them "Oi lu punya bapak punya jalan ar!!" I was watching a Harith Iskandar stand-up comedy at work one day and found what he said so funny but true. I remember him saying Singaporeans would cross the road only at a certain designated area. And at the designated area, they wait again for the green man to start blinking...
And only then, they would cross the road.

But to a Malaysian... Aiyo the whole damn road is a designated area. We cross whenever we want and where ever we want. OMG he is soooooo true. Coz me and my friend do it everyday!!! What to do... We're Malaysians maa...So I'm proud to be one. But I'm still not as pro as my fellow friend yet. Salute you la KheeLung!! Lol

And with our "Oh I'm so busy" schedule, to renew our passports, usually we would choose the day that we think would have the least amount of people queuing up to do so at our government departments. Oh did you know that you could get your passport 2 hours afta you've made payment on that day itself. Pretty efficient ya?? Really??... So which day would you choose?? I chose a friday but not TY.
After her recent stint at the Pusat Bandar Damansara branch, TY would definitely advise you not to go on a monday to renew your passport. She reached at 12pm. Ngam ngam nearly lunch just to find that there are about 100 people waiting in front of her. Then when it was finally TY's turn to take nombor, "Maaf.. Sistem komputer kami tergendala", said the officer. And to add to TY's agony, the officer scolded her for not lining up at 7:30am. According to TY, "Just because she had to come to work at 7:30 in the morning, she expects everyone to line up at 7:30 in the morning with her... Siao cha boh... I want to come at 12, I'll come at 12 laaa. " So don't ever go renew passport on Monday! In the end, TY got it done on a wed. She still went there at about 12 noon. Screw 7:30am people!!!

This time no me

I've realized that previous posts before this were all about me, myself and I. So I've decided to write about others this time. Lets start with the people that I see almost every other day.

Let me ask you something. How well do you know your neighbors? Yes.. the ones who live beside you right now. In my opinion, I know mine just about the right amount. Nothing more, nothing less but just the amount I'd wanna know. You just might find that neighbours are pretty interesting people to look at and talk to.

Lets start with the old lady near me. Almost everyday, Mrs.K will start her day by screaming that the drains are too dirty or the windows are not clean...bla..bla..bla Yep, everyday you can hear her yelling at her 2 poor maids. A couple of them did manage to escape to freedom before through the garbage compartments. And since the incident where she watered my granddaddy like a plant a zillion years ago, they do not speak much to one another. What a pity.. Maybe not.
Yep, that's sorta her.

Not far far away, lives Mr and Mrs V- an elderly couple. Mr V is a quiet man but not Mrs.V. She's a spy!! Spying on other people's life through her windows is what she does best. How I know this... Coz my grandmama would spy on her too and then comes back and tell us that she is spying on our house. See the hide and seek games these elderly people play. And then there's her maid. Now, this maid is sorta like Cinderella who sings (She sings out loud to the plants and not very well I might add) & is waiting for Prince Charming to rescue her. And with all that hoping and wishing, Cinderella's wish did come true. Prince Not So Charming turned out to be the guard in the next lane. Yep a forbidden love affair.

Shhh... do not let Mrs V know that he comes to the fair maiden's rescue every night. Imagine the catastrophe.

Then down the lane, you'll find the Scottish lady with her husband. She's extremely lovely and still thinks she is in Scotland as she reads in the garden IN THE HOT SUN. Auntie!! This is Malaysia not Glasgow. But it was really sweet of her to tell me that when I hail to Scotland next year, she will write to her friend there to have a look out for me. And I love her Scottish accent. However, although she's really sweet and all, I don't understand what she says half the time. Wonder how long it'll take me to learn Doric( a form of Scots which phrases are used in an Aberdonian's everyday speech) "Fit like?" means "How are you?"

The Gossip Queen award goes to a doctor living nearby as she will know anything ranging from who suffered from what illness (okay she should know that) , who died (still in the medical context), who gave birth, who moved away and why, who fought with who, who was not on talking terms with who, whose maid ran away..bla..bla..bla... Anything you'd wanna know about anyone, she would be the go to lady. Doctors do gossip a lot...yea?

Then there's also the hot air stewardess who lives nearby and who looks way hotter than her husband. But sad thing is whenever you see her, she does not smile, does not say 'hi' and tries to avoid any eye contact with you. I think the stewarding job with all the SMILING :D while she goes "Thank you for flying with us... Hope to see you on board with us again... Have a nice trip" has taken the toll on her. Thus no more smiley gal when she's on solid ground. See how different a person can be. Work attitude completely different from self attitude.

A walk further down the road and you will find the ang moh-asian couple. Anyway, this couple likes to show their affection to the world. Of all the rooms in their big huge home, they decide to have make out sessions in the kitchen where it is visible to everyone. Seriously, is it something that we need to see or not?? See also must wash eye laa... Nice kitchen by the way.

Actually, we don't really need to see this. Do we?

And do not let me get started on how some of them can be so ignorant about Road Traffic Accidents. There's this dutch family who throws a Frisbee on the road while being barefooted while cars are moving up and down. Seriously, once I had to slow down to a stop as they were running across the road to catch the damn thing. Actually, I should not have slowed down... Should have been more Malaysian...HonkHonkHonkHonk....And speed past them.. Lol....

Wow...this is really long. I think I should stop. Rambled enough. Did you make it till the end? Or you stopped half way?? See, I told you I know quite a bit about them.

No Pain, No Gain

Bullshit!! Wanna know why? Coz after all the pain that I've endured today, I still dont know what did I gain from it.

Ever tried on a pair of shoes which are really really pretty but not meant to be comfy for the feet?

My pretty shoes with the lovely ribbons

I actually bought them for convo months ago. And it was already hurting me back then when I wore them during graduation. It hurt so bad that I took off my shoes when we were required to take our group picture. Just could not kneel with them. To be honest, I think the lecturer standing behind me was laughing at me but no time to care bout her back then, as it was either barefoot or pain in the foot.
I took off my shoes every opportunity I could find. Until a friend recommended that I "Bite my Shoes". At 1st I thought she was joking and found it rather ridiculous... haha.. But turns out, she was not kidding as her suggestion was supported by yet another friend. "Bite the shoes with your teeth, so that it would not bite you again in the future" ... Okay... Still not too convinced, I went back home and consulted mom and granny. They too said "Yea its true..." So I did what everyone said. I BIT the shoe!!

After that, my beautiful pair of shoes was kept away in the closet until today when I decided to take it out for a spin again. Did the biting work?? NO IT DID NOT, COZ IT STILL BLOODY HURTS MY FEET. I could barely walk to the lrt station at the end of the day and was squinting in pain nearly the whole way. To my horror, when I got to the klcc station, the stupid escalator was not working. Siao la... But no choice, gotta walk. OMG... Hurt..Ouch...Pain with every step.

It was like the shoes were made for one reason. Their sole mission was to destroy feet.
In the end, Shoes: Mission Accomplished; Feet: GG
Blisters all over already. Tomorrow, its "flip flops to work day".

But these are still the best okay:

Yes... I'm a sneaker person :)

But of course, I'm still gonna wear my pretty bowed shoes again. Just not so soon yet.

10 Things I've Learnt at Work So Far

  • If you're not sure about something, better just say "I dunno". Coz I thought I knew, which turned out to be the wrong thing. Outcome = BAD
  • That when you send a letter, you need to stick on a 30cents stamp. Not 20 or 10 cents ya.
  • How to send a letter through a fax machine. Got very confused at first. But all you need to do is just to punch in the number and.... magic..! Haha
  • How to use the typewriter. This ancient machine is still giving me a hell of a problem. Still learning how to overcome my fear of the typewriter. Wonder if there is a word for it.."typophobia?". Just discovered today, that the typewriter had an ON button at the side.
  • Never be afraid to speak your mind when you feel that you're right. Especially when telling some really old and stubborn people off. The downside; well since it's more superior than u, it'll sometimes just make life more miserable for you at the end of the day. Plus, old people, will never admit that they are wrong.
  • How to Bind books. Ooh.. used to suck at this. Now pro already. Dont think its easy. Its NOT!!>.<
  • That every document should have an original, duplicate and a copy. Need so many or not aar? Yes Need. Coz with 3 copies also people will somehow lose it and the poor office people has gotta look for it... even if the transaction was say 10 years ago.
  • Everything must be in black and white. Words from your mouth will never count. And when trouble arises, Who's to blame? U or me?? Of course u lor!!!
  • That some colleagues are fun people :)
  • HOW to LIE. Wanna survive in the working world, you must know how to do this.

Do something you Like for a job, then you wouldn't have to work even for a day.

Game, Set, Match

I know its rather late to write bout this but there is just one word to describe the Malaysian Open, Kuala Lumpur 2009-AWESOME!!!! (Except for the part where I slept through the doubles semis- tooo boring already..beh tahan) Yea for those of you who didnt know, tennis was held last week in KL with ATP ranked players playing in the tournament.

Being avid tennis fans, see how many tickets me,sis n mom collected... haha... crazziiieee...

Congratulations to Nikolay for wining but truth be told, I was rooting for Fernando Verdasco the whole time. Sitting at the upper tier, I dont know if Fernando could even hear me, but I just kept screaming and screaming ... What was disappointing was that he could not convert the 3 break points he had in the 2nd set to take the match to a third set. Haiyo...

Cmon Verdasco!!!!

He was so close by. I could see his face... Lol... Just didnt manage to stretch far enough for an autograph :(

It was also sad to see that none of the Malaysian players could even qualify for the 1st Round of our own Malaysian open. Russia Boleh!!! Espanyol Boleh!! Chile pun Boleh!!! But Malaysia aar... eeeehhh in tennis wor.... Boleh??? Errrr... Just imagine, even our own very very top Malaysian tennis chair umpire only qualified to be the line judge for this tournament. The chair umpire were all from overseas. And speaking of the line judges, make up your mind people!!! The ball is either in or out. No need guees here and there and half the time the chair umpire have to overrule the call. And please call faster can or not?? Why make such slow calls?
And I think supporters should get the name of the players right before yelling like mad people across the stadium with the wrong name. Richard Gasquet is not pronounced like how its spelt. He's french... should be Gasqay... not gas-quet...

Gonzalez to serve....

And what is tennis without a little drama. And Gonzalez provided just what I was supposed to see. He slamed his racket to the ground after losing the 1st set in the semifinals against Verdasco. But being such a blur case and as I was too busy watching Verdasco, I didn't see him. Wth ..I only saw the broken racket being given to a fan.. "Gonzlez, I want your racket!!! I dont care if its broken!!!" A bad thing bout watching live tennis, there are no replays. Once you miss the action, that's it.

Okay, that's bout it. Wonder next year still got chance to go or not?? Dont think so :(

Feeling Guilty... Neh... At least not for now

Fresh Milk vs Low fat Milk.... As a milk drinker, I would tell you that afta drinking low fat milk for a really long time, fresh milk just seems like heaven. So yummy!!!
Was drinking one for lunch today when the lady who comes to clean my desk at work every other day told me, "ah moi, itu susu segar jangan minum lo... manyak gemuk...." (its true- fresh milk does make you fat) while the carton was still in my mouth laa... Didnt manage to really answer her also because my mouth was full..duhh.. All i did manage to say was, "Takda la... tak da :D" (i was lying-fresh milk does make you fat). To which she had to remind me again " ingat ya.. gemuk oo..."
Wah liao, it was not really my fault also la ok. Shop tak da sell low fat milk, so I had to buy FRESH MILK. So technically, not my fault.
Anyway, after she told me, I did feel bad.. I did. I really did. But then hor.... its not like I drink it everyday......
Heck, I finished my milk right after she left. I dun care what people say. My thought for the day 'Eat now, worry and complain later!!!'

My very first!

Ok i started a blog out of boredom at work n I needed to try something new. I actually contemplated to start one for quite sometime, see how INDECISIVE i am. Should i?? Should i Not?? One minute i would want "a" the next i may want "b" (see how indecisive i am again). A perfect example was when i changed my answers during OBA when most of it are the right ones (yea yea laugh all you want). Anyway this blog is for me to whine all about my life. Hence, the title of my blog. I will try and learn how upload the chat box soon.
And just a note 2 a friend, khee lung I did not lose any bet.
